Tenerife Holidays All Inclusive: Resorts, Weather and Tips

Island · Canary Islands · Spain

Booking Tenerife holidays all inclusive makes a lot of sense on an island where the winter highs at Adeje still reach 21°C in January and the main British gateway, Tenerife South, sits a short drive from the big resorts. Costa Adeje, Los Cristianos and Playa de las Américas carry most of the demand from UK travellers, with Puerto de la Cruz offering a greener alternative in the north. Below I explain what an all-inclusive board usually covers, which parts of the island suit a resort-style stay, when the weather is at its most reliable, and how to judge transfer times before you book. You can compare live packages from several UK providers on this page.

What all inclusive usually covers

An all-inclusive board generally bundles your meals, local drinks and snacks between meals into the price of the stay, so you can eat and drink at the hotel without signing a bill each time. In practice that means breakfast, lunch and dinner, usually as buffets with some themed nights, plus soft drinks, beer, house wine and local spirits served at set bars during set hours. Imported brands, premium wines and à la carte restaurants are often charged extra, so read the board description before you commit.

The same logic applies to all inclusive apartments in Tenerife: some aparthotels offer the full board, while others sell self-catering or half board and leave you to cook or eat out. On an island where you may want to spend a day at Loro Parque or walking the Barranco del Infierno, it is worth checking whether a packed lunch or late dinner can be arranged on excursion days.

Which resort suits you

The south-west coast is where most all inclusive resorts in Tenerife cluster, and the demand figures show it clearly. Costa Adeje is by far the most searched resort on the island, followed by Los Cristianos and Playa de las Américas. These three run into one another along the coast near Adeje, and they are the natural home of larger resort-style hotels with pools and entertainment. Playa de las Américas has Siam Park on its doorstep, while the Barranco del Infierno protected area lies above Adeje for a morning away from the sunbeds.

Further up the west coast, Los Gigantes is quieter and smaller, about 30 minutes from Tenerife South, and suits couples who want sea cliffs rather than nightlife. Golf del Sur and El Médano, on the south-east side, are low-key choices with a fraction of the demand. In the north, Puerto de la Cruz is an older resort town with Loro Parque, the Lago Martiánez pools, the Jardín de Aclimatación de la Orotava and the Castillo de San Felipe, which makes it a good base if you want culture alongside your Tenerife all inclusive hotels.

When the weather is best

Tenerife works almost all year. Figures from Adeje give highs of 20 to 21°C from December to February, climbing to 26°C in July and 28°C in August, with nights that rarely drop below 13°C. July records no rain days at all, and April and May see only two each.

February is the shoulder month, slightly cooler at 20°C with around six rain days, and March is the wettest month on paper at 39mm, though still with only five rain days. Every other month counts as a good time to go, which is why all inclusive breaks to Tenerife are popular for winter sun as much as for the summer holidays.

Booking your package

Fly into Tenerife South, the airport with direct flights from the United Kingdom. Tenerife North does not have direct UK routes, so most packages land in the south. Transfers are short: about 14 minutes to Playa de las Américas, 15 minutes to Adeje, 24 minutes to Guía de Isora and 30 minutes to Los Gigantes. If you choose Puerto de la Cruz in the north, expect a longer transfer across the island.

A package bundles flight, hotel and transfers, and the board basis is the line to check most carefully. Families should look at pool areas and kids' clubs and remember that school-holiday dates push demand and prices up, so booking early or travelling just outside term breaks helps. For all inclusive deals in Tenerife, you can compare Jet2holidays, TUI, loveholidays and On the Beach side by side on this page, check hotel prices, and add car hire or tours and tickets if you plan days out to Santa Cruz or Candelaria.

Questions people ask

Where are the best all inclusive resorts in Tenerife?

Most resort-style hotels sit on the south-west coast around Costa Adeje, Los Cristianos and Playa de las Américas, the three most searched resorts on the island. Los Gigantes is a quieter alternative, and Puerto de la Cruz in the north suits travellers who want sights such as Loro Parque nearby.

Which part of Tenerife is best for a family all inclusive holiday?

Playa de las Américas and Costa Adeje are handy for families: Tenerife South airport is about 14 to 15 minutes away, and Siam Park water park is right by Playa de las Américas. Puerto de la Cruz has Loro Parque and the Lago Martiánez pools, but a longer transfer.

Which airport should I fly into for an all inclusive Tenerife holiday?

Tenerife South is the airport with direct flights from the United Kingdom. It is around 14 minutes from Playa de las Américas, 15 minutes from Adeje and 30 minutes from Los Gigantes. Tenerife North has no direct UK flights.

When is the best time to book all inclusive holidays to Tenerife?

Weather-wise, almost any month works. Adeje sees highs of 21°C in January and 28°C in August, with no rain days recorded in July. February is the shoulder month at 20°C. School holidays are busiest, so travelling outside them usually offers more choice.

How can I find the best Tenerife all inclusive deals?
