Ibiza Holidays: Resorts, Weather and Package Deals from the UK

Island · Balearic Islands · Spain

Ibiza holidays are short on travelling and long on beach time. The island has a single airport with direct flights from the UK, and the main resort areas sit within a quarter of an hour's drive of it. Sant Antoni de Portmany is about 12 minutes away and Santa Eulària des Riu about 16. Along the coast you will find coves such as Cala Salada, Cala Bassa and Cala Llonga. Summer brings dry heat: at Sant Antoni, July averages highs of 32°C with a single rainy day. Spring and autumn are milder and calmer. On this page you can see which resort suits whom, when to go, how the transfers work, and compare live package deals from several UK providers.

Who the island suits

Short transfers are a real help for families. No resort is far from the airport, so tired children spend minutes rather than hours on a coach. If you are searching for Ibiza family holidays, the sandy bays of Santa Eulària des Riu, including Cala Llonga and Cala Pada, are a natural place to start your comparison.

Couples and anyone wanting peace and quiet tend to look south-west and north-east. Es Cubells has fewer than a thousand residents and sits above coves such as Cala Vadella and Sa Caleta. Sant Carles de Peralta covers Es Canar and Cala de Sant Vicent. Sant Antoni de Portmany, known to most British travellers as San Antonio, is the resort people search for most. It is the busier, livelier base on the west coast.

Which resort to choose

San Antonio, or Sant Antoni de Portmany, is the town on the west coast with around 22,000 residents. The coves nearby include Cala Salada, Cala Bassa and Cala Comte. Santa Eulalia, or Santa Eulària des Riu, is the largest municipality, with about 31,000 people. It suits a beach-and-stroll holiday, with Platja des Niu Blau, Cala Llonga and Cala Martina close by. History fans can visit the remains of the S'Argamassa Roman Fish Farm.

Ibiza Town is the island's city, for those who would rather stay somewhere urban. Further out, Es Cubells looks over Cala d'Hort and Platja des Jondal. Sant Carles de Peralta covers Platja Pou d'es Lleó and Platja de Nova. Sant Joan de Labritja, with under 5,000 residents, is the quieter northern option.

When to book your trip

The best months to go are April, June, August and October, and each gives a different holiday. April brings highs of around 21°C and only three rainy days, which suits walking and sightseeing. June reaches 28°C and July 32°C, the driest month by far. August stays at 31°C and is the classic beach month, but the UK school holidays put pressure on family package prices, so booking early gives you more choice.

October still averages 25°C, which makes it a good choice for a late-season break. May and September are warm, at 23°C and 27°C, but each averages nine rainy days. In winter the island is mild and quiet, with highs of about 16°C from December to February.

Booking your package holiday

A package holiday bundles your flight, hotel and resort transfer into one booking, and when it is sold as a package it is ATOL-protected. For most British travellers, Ibiza package holidays are the simplest way to book: you land, meet your transfer and are at the hotel within minutes. When you compare, check the board basis (room only, half board or all inclusive) as well as the price.

This page shows live deals from Jet2holidays, TUI, loveholidays and On the Beach. You can compare Jet2holidays Ibiza packages side by side with love holidays Ibiza offers and the other providers.
