Siam Park Costa Adeje, Aqualand and More Things to Do

Resort · Canary Islands · Tenerife · Spain

For many British families, Siam Park Costa Adeje is the first name on the holiday wish list, and with good reason: the water park sits about a mile from the Costa Adeje coast, and Aqualand Costa Adeje is closer still. Yet this corner of southern Tenerife offers more than slides. Within a few miles you have the gorge of Barranco del Infierno above Adeje, the lava landscape of the Malpaís de la Rasca, the Punta Rasca Lighthouse and a run of beaches from Playa del Duque to Playa de las Vistas. Tenerife South airport, with direct flights from the UK, is around a quarter of an hour away, so the sights start almost as soon as you land.

The sights worth planning around

Siam Park is the headline: the best-known water park in Tenerife, roughly a mile away on the Playa de las Américas side. If you have seen it searched as Siam Park Adeje Tenerife, it is the same place, and it makes a full day out. Aqualand Costa Adeje, the resort's other water park, is under a mile from the coast, and many visitors try to fit in both over a week or a fortnight.

Beyond the water parks, the most rewarding Costa Adeje attractions are natural. Barranco del Infierno, a protected area around 4 miles inland at Adeje, is the classic walk. To the south, the Reserva Natural Especial del Malpaís de la Rasca covers a stretch of volcanic coast about 5 to 6 miles away, with the Punta Rasca Lighthouse and the Castillo de La Rasca nearby. Golfers have Golf Las Américas about 2 miles from the resort.

What to do, area by area

Playa de las Américas, about a mile from Costa Adeje, holds most of the things to do in Costa Adeje Tenerife visitors ask about. Siam Park and Aqualand are here, along with Monkey Park, a small zoo around 3 miles away, and Golf Las Américas. The beaches run from Playa del Duque, under a mile from the resort, to Playa de las Vistas, Honda Beach and Playa de Los Cristianos, all roughly 2.5 miles away towards Los Cristianos. Further south, La Arenita is about 7 miles off, close to the Malpaís de la Rasca reserve, the lighthouse and the castle.

Adeje itself, around 2.5 miles up the hill, is the gateway to Barranco del Infierno. The quieter beaches on this side are Playa Las Galgas and Playa de Ajabo, both about 4 miles from the resort. Los Cristianos ferry port is roughly a mile away if you want to cross to another island.

Days out with children

Families are well served. Siam Park and Aqualand are the obvious choices, both close enough that the journey is short even for small children; for anyone asking whether Aqualand in Costa Adeje suits younger ones, its proximity alone makes an easy half or full day. Monkey Park, a zoo about 3 miles away, is a gentler outing that works well on a day out of the sun.

For beach days, Playa del Duque is the nearest, and Playa de las Vistas and Playa de Los Cristianos are only a short hop. July and August are the hottest months, with highs of 26°C to 28°C and almost no rain, so plan the water parks for the morning and keep the afternoons slow. Barranco del Infierno is a walk better suited to older children.

Booking tours and tickets

You can compare tours and tickets for the water parks, Monkey Park and excursions from this page, alongside car hire if you want to reach the Malpaís de la Rasca or the Punta Rasca Lighthouse on your own schedule. Booking water park tickets ahead is sensible in the school holidays, when demand from families is at its peak.

Most British visitors arrive on a package holiday into Tenerife South, about 14 minutes from Playa de las Américas and 15 from Adeje; Tenerife North is nearly 50 minutes away and has no direct UK flights. You can compare package deals and hotel prices here too. The weather is reliable for almost the whole year, with January highs of 21°C, and February is the only month with noticeably less settled conditions.
