All Inclusive Resorts Alicante: Where to Stay and When to Go
City · Costa Blanca · Spain
Looking at all inclusive resorts in Alicante makes a lot of sense for British travellers: few Spanish cities sit this close to their airport. Alicante airport has direct flights from the United Kingdom and is about 9 minutes by road from the city, so your first swim can come shortly after landing. Summer is reliably hot, with highs of 30°C in July and August and barely any rain in July. Beyond the pool, Santa Bárbara Castle rises over the old town and city beaches such as Playa de la Albufereta are a short hop away. Below, I explain what all inclusive in Alicante usually covers, where to stay and when to go.

What all inclusive usually covers
In general terms, an all inclusive board basis covers your breakfast, lunch and dinner, usually served buffet-style, plus snacks between meals and drinks throughout the day. Local alcoholic drinks such as Spanish beer, house wine and local spirits are normally included, along with soft drinks, tea and coffee. Premium branded spirits, bottled wines from a list and some à la carte restaurants often carry a supplement, so check each offer before you book.
When you compare Alicante hotels with all inclusive deals on this page, read the small print for drinks hours and which bars take part. Alicante is a sizeable city with tapas bars and restaurants on every corner, so some travellers choose half board instead and eat out in the old town in the evenings. Both options sit side by side in the package deals shown here.
Choosing between city and coast
Alicante itself is a coastal city of nearly 349,000 people, which means you get a proper Spanish city on your doorstep rather than a purpose-built strip. Staying in the centre puts you within walking distance of the Co-Cathedral of St. Nicholas of Bari, the Basilica of Saint Mary, the Gravina Museum of Fine Arts and the Alicante Museum of Contemporary Art. For more space and a beach-first holiday, the stretch north of the port is where to look: Playa de la Albufereta and Playa de la Almadraba are about 2.5 miles out, with Playa de Agua Amarga roughly 2 miles away and the cove of Cala dels Cantalars at around 3 miles.
If you want all inclusive near Alicante but somewhere quieter, El Campello lies about 7 miles up the coast, with a population of around 28,000. It is 19 minutes from the airport and has its own archaeological site, Illeta dels Banyets, set by the sea. Larger resort-style hotels with pools and entertainment tend to suit these beach districts and El Campello better than the tight streets of the historic centre, so filter by location when you compare.

Booking your all inclusive package
Most British travellers book Alicante holidays all inclusive as a package, combining flight, hotel and transfers in one booking. You can compare live all inclusive holidays in Alicante, Spain from Jet2holidays, TUI, loveholidays and On the Beach on this page, alongside hotel prices if you would rather arrange things separately. Alicante airport is the natural choice, with transfers of about 9 minutes to the city and 19 minutes to El Campello. Murcia airport also has direct UK flights but is around 73 minutes from Alicante, so weigh that longer transfer, especially with tired children.
Families should know that prices for Alicante all inclusive holiday packages generally rise during the British school holidays, particularly in July and August. If you are hunting for cheap all inclusive holidays in Alicante, travelling in May, June or October usually gives better value with plenty of warmth. If a 5 star all inclusive in Alicante is what you want, filter the deals by star rating and check exactly what the board basis includes.
