Santa Ponsa Holidays: Package Breaks to Mallorca from the UK
Resort · Balearic Islands · Mallorca · Spain
Santa Ponsa holidays make easy sense for British travellers. The resort sits on Mallorca's south-west coast, only about 20 minutes by road from Palma de Mallorca airport, which has direct flights from the UK. That short hop means less time on a coach and more time on the sand. You get a town of around 10,700 people with its own small beach, Caló d'en Pellicer, and a run of archaeological sites on the hill of Puig de Sa Morisca. Quieter El Toro lies just 2 miles away. Palma's weather records give warm, dry summers, with July and August reaching 32°C. On this page you can compare live package deals, hotel prices, tours and car hire for the resort.

Who the resort suits
Families like the short transfer. Twenty minutes from the airport makes a real difference when you're travelling with tired children, and the resort beach, Caló d'en Pellicer, is right in town. Platja del Toro is only about a mile further along the coast.
Couples and curious travellers will find more than sunbathing. Puig de Sa Morisca and its archaeological park sit on the edge of town. The Roman settlement of sa Mesquida and Turó de ses Abelles are both within about half a mile. These are some of the best things to do in Santa Ponsa when you want a cooler morning away from the sea.
If you want a quieter stay, look at El Toro. It is a much smaller place of around 2,300 residents, close to the beach and the cliffs out towards Cala Figuera.
Santa Ponsa or El Toro
Most holidays in Santa Ponsa Majorca are based in the main town. Here the beach, the archaeological sites and the airport road are all close at hand. Of the two, it is the place with more going on, simply because it is around five times the size of its neighbour.
El Toro, about 2 miles away, is the alternative for a calmer base. Its beach, Platja del Toro, is one of the best beaches near Santa Ponsa. The cove of Cala Figuera and the Cala Figuera Lighthouse are around 4 miles from town, on the headland. The transfer from Palma takes about 21 minutes, barely longer than to Santa Ponsa itself.

Which months to choose
May and June are the sweet spot. Palma's records show highs of 24°C in May and 29°C in June, with around five to seven rain days a month. That is warm enough for the beach without the full weight of midsummer.
July and August are the hottest and driest months, at 32°C, with July averaging just two rain days. They also fall in the UK school holidays, when package prices generally rise and the resort is at its busiest, so book early if you're tied to those weeks. September stays warm at 28°C but is the wettest month of the year, with about ten rain days. October still reaches 24°C.
Winter is mild rather than hot. Highs sit around 15°C to 17°C from December to February. That suits walking and the archaeological sites more than swimming.
Flying in from the UK
