Magaluf Holidays: Package Deals, Resorts and When to Go
Resort · Balearic Islands · Mallorca · Spain
Magaluf holidays are about as easy to arrange as a Spanish beach trip gets. The resort sits on the south-west coast of Mallorca, only 16 minutes by road from Palma de Mallorca airport, which has direct flights from the United Kingdom. Palmanova lies about a mile along the same shore, so you get two beach bases and a string of coves within easy reach. Days can be spent at Western Water Park or Marineland Mallorca, and summers are reliably hot, with July and August both reaching 32°C. This page sets out who the resort suits, when to travel, and how a flight, hotel and transfer package works, with live deals you can compare below.

Who Magaluf suits best
Families get plenty from this stretch of coast. Western Water Park is about a mile from the centre of Magaluf, and Marineland Mallorca is around 2 miles away near Palmanova, so most Magaluf family holidays can include a theme-park day without needing a hire car. The short airport transfer also helps with tired children at either end of the trip.
Couples and anyone after something calmer than the main beach can look to the smaller coves. Cala Vinyes lies about a mile from Magaluf, while Cala Comtessa and Caleta de Bendinat sit 3 to 4 miles away towards the Castle of Bendinat. For a little history, the Naveta Alemany archaeological site is about a mile out of the resort.
Choosing between the two bases
Magaluf itself is the smaller of the two places, with a population of around 5,300, and it is the base most British travellers search for. Its nearest beaches and sights, from Cala Vinyes to Western Water Park, are all within roughly a mile.
Palmanova, about a mile along the coast, is slightly larger at around 7,000 residents and has the bigger cluster of beaches: Palmanova beach, Na Nadala and platja del Carregador are all under a mile away, with Son Caliu Beach and Platja de l'Hostalet a little further. It is also a minute closer to the airport, at 15 minutes. Because the two sit so close together, staying in one and spending days in the other is easy.

When to book and why
May and June are the best months on the climate figures from Palma. May brings highs of 24°C and June 29°C, with fewer rainy days than spring, so it is warm without the full heat of midsummer. July and August are the hottest, both at 32°C, and July is the driest month of the year with just two days of rain.
September stays warm at 28°C but turns into the wettest month, with around 10 rainy days, and October and November remain changeable. Short breaks to Magaluf in the shoulder months, from February to April or in late autumn, give highs between 16°C and 24°C, fine for walking the coves rather than sunbathing. Summer and school-holiday dates are the busiest, so booking those well ahead gives you the widest choice of packages to compare.
Getting there from the UK
Palma de Mallorca (PMI) is the airport for the resort and has direct flights from the United Kingdom. The drive is 16 minutes to Magaluf and 15 minutes to Palmanova, one of the shortest airport transfers you will find on a Spanish holiday, which makes Magaluf weekend breaks realistic even with Friday and Sunday flights.
If you are combining islands, Palma's ferry port is about 6 miles from Magaluf, with Alcúdia further north and Ibiza reachable by sea.
Booking your package
Magaluf package holidays bundle your flight to Palma, your hotel and usually the airport transfer into one booking, and when sold as a package they are ATOL-protected. You choose the board basis when you book, from room only through to all inclusive, which is worth weighing up if you are travelling with children. Prices for school holidays run higher than term-time dates, so it pays to compare a few weeks either side if you can.
The deal buttons on this page let you compare live offers from Jet2holidays, TUI, loveholidays and On the Beach, so you can check Jet2 holidays to Magaluf against the other providers side by side for a week, a fortnight or shorter Magaluf breaks. If you are looking at luxury holidays to Magaluf, compare the hotel grades and board options within each offer. You can also check hotel prices, see tours and tickets for local sights, and compare car hire for days out further along the coast.
