Benidorm Holidays: Package Deals from the UK Compared
Resort · Costa Blanca · Spain
Benidorm holidays are about as straightforward as a Spanish beach trip gets for British travellers. You fly direct into Alicante, and the transfer to Benidorm takes around 41 minutes. You then have two long town beaches, Platja de Llevant and Platja de Ponent, within walking distance of most of the resort. Summer brings highs of 30 to 31°C in July and August, and the mild months either side make this Costa Blanca resort a year-round option. This page explains how a package works here, which part of the coast suits whom and when to go. You can also compare live deals from the main UK package providers.

Who the resort suits
Families are the obvious fit. Terra Mítica theme park, the Aqualandia waterpark and the Mundomar marine animal park are all about 2 miles from the centre, and Terra Natura Benidorm zoo is roughly 2.5 miles out. That makes it easy to mix beach days with a park day without long journeys, and it explains why a holiday in Benidorm, Spain, so often works around school-age children.
Couples and anyone after a slower pace have their own options. You can climb to the Mirador de Sant Jaume in town, walk out to La Cruz de Benidorm viewpoint or look for the smaller coves, such as Cala Tío Ximo and Almadrava Cove. The Museo Boca del Calvari sits right in the centre for a quieter hour away from the sand.
Benidorm or Finestrat
Most packages place you in Benidorm itself, a town of around 70,000 people. Platja de Llevant lies on one side and Platja de Ponent on the other, with the small Platgeta del Mal Pas between them in the centre. Llevant is the closer of the two big beaches to the heart of town. Ponent stretches further and is a little more spread out.
Finestrat lies about 5 miles away. It is much smaller, with a population of under 4,000, and it has its own Playa de Finestrat on the coast. The ruins of El Realet are nearby. It suits travellers who want Benidorm's parks and beaches within reach but prefer to sleep somewhere quieter. Transfers from Alicante are slightly shorter, at around 39 minutes.

Which months to travel
The main season runs from May to November. July is the hottest month, with highs around 31°C and only two rain days on average, and August is close behind at 30°C. June and September both sit around 26°C, which suits families with younger children. September and May do bring the most rain of the year, at around 50 to 56mm, though it usually falls on only about seven days.
October still reaches about 25°C and November about 21°C, which makes both good months for short breaks to Benidorm out of the school calendar. From December to April, daytime highs of 16 to 20°C suit walking and sightseeing more than sunbathing. Packages in the school holidays generally cost more and sell earlier, so book those dates well ahead.
Flights and transfers from the UK
Alicante is the airport for this stretch of the Costa Blanca, and it is served by direct flights from the UK. The drive to Benidorm takes about 41 minutes and the drive to Finestrat about 39. A package includes this transfer, so you go from the arrivals hall straight to your hotel without arranging a taxi or car hire.
If you would rather explore further along the coast, you can compare car hire for Alicante on this page. The port at Dénia, about 25 miles north, has ferries towards Ibiza for anyone tempted by an island hop.
Booking your package
A package holiday bundles your flight, hotel and airport transfers into a single booking. When it is sold as a package, it is ATOL-protected. You choose the board basis that suits you, from room only to all inclusive, and that choice shapes your daily routine as much as the hotel does. Package holidays to Benidorm are offered by all the major UK operators. Below you can compare live deals from Jet2holidays, TUI, loveholidays and On the Beach side by side, whether you are searching for Jet2 holidays to Benidorm or loveholidays offers.
If you would rather book separately, this page also lets you check hotel prices, see tours and tickets for the theme parks and zoo, and compare car hire. That works equally well for a full fortnight or for short holidays to Benidorm.
