Hilltop Town or Beachfront Base
Torrox splits naturally in two. The town itself sits on higher ground about 147 metres above sea level, close to the old convent, while the beaches and the lighthouse lie roughly two miles away on the coast. If your fortnight revolves around the sea, a base near Playa Ferrara or El Morche keeps the sand on your doorstep. If you prefer the life of a working Andalusian town, stay in the centre and drive or take a short trip down to the beach.
With a population of under 17,000, Torrox is a modest place, and the busier resort atmosphere is found in neighbouring Nerja. Live hotel prices for Torrox are shown on this page.
Hire a car
The easiest way to reach Torrox and the villages around it is a hire car from Málaga (AGP), about 44 min away.
